A SURVEY OF FACTORS THAT INFLUENCE EMPLOYEE RETENTION IN MANUFACTURING FIRMS IN NAIROBI

The study sought to establish factors related to employee retention in manufacturing
firms in Nairobi. 96 manufacturing firms from different sectors were used in the study.
A cross sectional survey method was used to collect data because the sector is quite large
with more than 500 firms.
The study primarily used data collected through a structured questionnaire with the sole
aim of establishing factors related to employee retention in the manufacturing sector in
Nairobi.
The results of the study revealed that most of the employees consider organizational
culture and job satisfaction as the key factors that influence employee retention in the
sector.
