ICT staff members from all campuses held a special meeting at the ICT centre in Chiromo campus.

Speaking at the ICT boardroom, the director ICT, Mr. Ibrahim Otieno congratulated the staff members for their hard work and dedication in service delivery. It is this that saw the University rise to become number one in East Africa and nine in Africa. At the same time, he urged everyone to work even harder and ensure that the University of Nairobi moves to top five in the next Webometrics ranking.

He also touched on staff promotions and revealed to the meeting that, last year, twelve members of staff were promoted. The staff endorsements had cut across all the ICT Center sections with Management Information Systems (MIS) having six members of staff promoted. The User Support section and Network Infrastructure Service (NIS), each, had three of their members promoted. Most of the promoted staff members were bearers of Masters Degrees in their respective fields.

The director noted that the ICTC managed to successfully complete many projects last year including; procurement of 900 computers, upgrade of Kaspersky antivirus software, installation of Wi-Fi in the School of Law at Parklands campus and network connection in the University's five extra-mural centers.
