During the discourse and networking session it came out clearly that the international Students significantly contributes to cultural diversity which the School of Business have the opportunity to utilize.

Some of the issues and challenges that were noted as faced by International students include:-

  • Language barrier
  • Acquisition of legal documents
  • Security issues
  • Accommodation
  • Remittance of funds from their sponsors for fees payments
  • Failure to complete programs within the time allowed by their home countries especially those on government or employer scholarship.

The Centre of International Programmes and Links (CIPL) office promised to assist in addressing these challenges and thanked the school for coming up with this brilliant intiative.

Moving forward, it was agreed that the School of Business will be hosting coffee talks on Quarterly basis as a way of continuously engaging with the international students; that the school organize and facilitate outreach Programmes and trips outside Nairobi to give them opportunity to tour and experience Kenyan hospitality, beauty and diversity among other experiences. These activities are envisaged to enrich their experiences in Kenya and therefore, they will be more likely to market the University and the School internationally.
