All students and staff are invited to showcase their innovations and participate in faculty hackathons taking place from March 19-21, 2024. 
The Hackathons are sessions, events  typically lasting several days, where people come together to collaborate in order to solve a problem or identify new opportunities.



In the last Hackathons at the Nairobi Innovation Week , 2023. The winners were given certificates and cash prizes. The overral winner got about Kshs. 1,000,000. 
They also got a chance to interact with industry experts in the field of Robotics, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Block Chain. 

Hackathon sessions are meant to help students collaborate and solve problems that they face on a daily routine. The past hackathon events has helped nurture the innovation ecosystem in the University of Nairobi and to add icing to the cake, some previous participants in the hackathons have ended up creating their own companies, businesses and tech firms. 

The previous Hackathon winner was a group of students from the Department of Management Science and Project Planning. 


As the Faculty of Business and Management Sciences, I take this opportunity to encourage all students to participate in the Hackathons.
