Graduation

The University of Nairobi Chancellor, Dr. Vijoo Rattansi conferred degrees and awarded diplomas to 4,205 graduands during the 65th Virtual Graduation Ceremony held on Friday 24th September 2021. The Theme of this year’s ceremony was “Upholding academic excellence and resilience through technology admist the COVID 19 pandemic”

The Dean-Faculty of Business and Management Sciences, Prof Jackson Maalu presented about 482 candidates for conferment of respective degrees. Of the 482 candidates, 23 were conferred Degree of Doctor of Philosophy, 81 Masters Degree, 2 post- Graduate Diplomas, 190 Bachelors Degree and 193 Diploma. Click to Download Graduation Booklet.

During the Ceremony Dr. Vijoo Rattansi gave a moving speech encouraging the graduating class of 2021 to view graduation as “a point of inflection where from new chapters of our lives unfolds. New beginnings, for all of us, take different forms.”

The Vice Chancellor Prof. Stephen Kiama outlined the various interventions the University has put in place to ensure the University remains relevant, vibrant and sustainable. In his address, Prof. Kiama addressed the University reforms saying; “You will agree with me that the University is about people. In the context of people reforms, students are very important stakeholders…Everybody irrespective of his /her background should consider the University as his /her home. We shall accord everybody the opportunity to grow and thrive at the university without discrimination. We shall continue to promote diversity.”
