The Faculty of Business and Management Sciences is pleased to announce the Call for Applications for the 11th DBA–Africa Management Review International Conference 2026, scheduled for 22nd–23rd October 2026.

The conference will be held under the theme:

"Transforming African Business and Society Through Research, Artificial Intelligence, and Emerging Technologies."

Below are the details of the call;

CONFERENCE AIMS AND OBJECTIVES

Africa's transformation requires research that informs innovation, shapes policy, and guides the responsible adoption of artificial intelligence and emerging technologies. The 11th DBA-AMR International Conference aims to provide a dynamic multi-stakeholder engagement for scholars, policymakers, industry leaders, entrepreneurs and development partners to exchange knowledge, showcase innovative research, and foster collaborations that advance Africa's socio-economic transformation. Guided by the theme “Transforming African Business and Society through Research, Artificial Intelligence and Emerging Technologies” the conference seeks to examine the opportunities and challenges presented by emerging technologies, promote evidence-based policymaking, strengthen academia-industry-government partnerships, encourage responsible and inclusive innovation, and generate practical solutions that enhance sustainable business competitiveness, public service delivery, and societal well-being across Africa.

CALL FOR SUBMISIONS FOR ABSTRACTS/ PAPERS TRACKS/ SUB-THEMES

Submissions are invited along the following themes

  3. Finance, Accounting, FinTech and Sustainable Investment
  4. Marketing, Consumer Behaviour and Digital Commerce
  5. Human Capital, Leadership and Future of Work
  6. Public Value, Sustainability and Development
  7. Operations, Supply Chains and Project Management

SUBMISSION TYPES

  • Extended Abstracts (1,000 – 1,500 words). Authors of accepted abstracts will then be asked to submit full research papers subject to the above deadlines
  • Full Research Papers (6,000 – 8,000 words): Both Theoretical and Empirical academic research
  • Practitioner Insights (6–8 pages): Evidence-based contributions from professionals addressing real-world challenges.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

  1. Format Requirements:
    • All submissions must be in English
    • All submissions must be submitted in PDF format
    • The title page MUST be separate from the manuscript which should not have any identification on the authors to allow anonymous peer review. The title page must however must bear the title, name of presenting author and co-authors, affiliation details, and the email of the corresponding author.
    • Extended Abstracts MUST not be less than 1,000 words and should include the following distinct sections – background, research problem and objective, literature review, methodology, discussion, references.
    • The recommended style will be as follows - Font: Times New Roman, 12 pt; APA 7th edition citation style; 4–6 keywords.
    • Once the abstract is confirmed as accepted, the authors will be advised to prepare the full paper for submission.
    • The PhD Colloquium Submissions must indicate the format the authors prefer to present (Oral or Poster) must be indicated after the title. Separate guidelines will be directly sent to the student upon registration
  2. Submission Process:
    • Submit via the official submission portal: Submission Portal
    • The sub-theme under which the submission is made must be clearly indicated on the face of the submission and in the portal
    • Each Submission will be processed though Double-blind peer review and therefore the uploaded submission MUST not include any author details
    • Once the submissions are confirmed as accepted, at least one of the authors must register and pay the registration fees for their abstract to be included in the final programme
  3. Selection Criteria:
    • Relevance to the conference theme
    • Conceptual and theoretical grounding
    • Methodological rigor
    • Originality and innovation
    • Practical implications
    • Writing quality

PUBLICATION OPPORTUNITIES

  • Selected papers will be published in the DBA-Africa Management Review Journal (Special Conference Edition)
  • Abstracts will appear in the Conference Book of Abstracts
