Decent state of the art hostels to be built at Lower Kabete Campus.

This was revealed on February 28, 2026 when a team of contractors, architects and civil engineers from the State Department of Housing visited the Dean, Faculty of Business and Management Sciences.

The team revealed that two blocks will be constructed, with a capacity of 2500 beds and the project will be completed in 18 months.  The government team has on-boarded consultants from Bets and Galaxy to enhance their manpower and skillset.

Speaking during the event, Dean, Prof. Kennedy Ogollah urged the team from Affordable Housing, Boma Yangu to consider employing students and giving them menial jobs to help them with upkeep. “We have some of the poorest students and yet very bright. I would urge you to consider giving them some menial jobs to help them earn a living.

The Dean also urged them to consider completion of the stalled hostels. The hostel has stalled for 37 years. “I am happy to see you here, maybe finally the stalled hostel will be completed”, he said.  The Dean urged the team to create something with that can last generations to come. “It is sad to see building collapsing in Nairobi due to shoddy works and cost cutting measures,” he opined.

As the university community, we look forward to new infrastructural development that will add to the aesthetic feeling in campus.
