In a townhall meeting with First Years, Class of 2025, Dean, Prof. Kennedy Ogollah urged first years to transfer to Mombasa and Kisumu Campuses.
The Dean pleaded with First Years to consider the option of moving to the two cities and enjoy the ambience that comes with the Campuses located near the Ocean and the Lake Victoria.
"We have the same facilities, same lecturers. I want to assure you, God giving me life, that in the next three years, we shall graduate all of you", he promised.
Since the reduction of school fees and accommodation fees, the Faculty of Business and Management Sciences has seen the student numbers doubled. This massive increase makes it impossible to conduct lectures and give quality education and hence the need to have students spread to the other Campuses with fewer student numbers.
The townhall meeting was attended by Chairmen of Departments and Students Leaders from Mombasa and Kisumu Campuses.
Student President, Troy Osano, narrated how his colleague from Migori avoided Nairobi Campus and ended up in Mombasa Campus and the endless opportunities he has been able to secure. To the surprise of the over 1000 students gathered at NTB 3 and 4, Troy said that his friend, has now secured a job and is waiting graduation and is earning around Kshs. 30,000 and is now well placed. Far better than him.
Students who wish to move to Kisumu and Mombasa Campus will be assisted by the Faculty of Business and Management Sciences in arranging for their accommodation and transport. Those students who had paid for their accommodation in Nairobi will have the refunds and another accommodation in the cities of Kisumu and Mombasa will be arranged.
First Years are urged to visit Room 103, new Administration Block to have their relocation matters arranged.
