The three days Nairobi Innovation Week brought together innovators, entrepreneurs and investors together. Policy makers were also in plenty in an event that was graced by Education Cabinet Minister, CS Machogu.

In the event, some two Faculty of Business and Management Sciences students showcased their innovations. One of the students showcased CRS, Customer Relations Management System. A system that enables young businesses to showcase their products, get new clients, do client follow ups and help businesses gain mileage as they increase their revenues.

According to the entrepreneur, a Barbershop will for example send out reminders to clients every two weeks or four weeks reminding them about shaving their beards or heads. This will go a long way in bringing back loyal clients.  The system also has a way of promoting businesses in their homepage and thus helping business owners gain new clients through marketing.

Customer Relations Services, nicknamed Venda, has social media services integration which helps business owner’s upsell their services. Other services within the system include digital wallets, an opportunity for clients to save money in installments and be able to buy the services or goods later on. The CRS, system is a product of Ian Aluda, 3rd Year, pursuing Bachelor of Information Systems.

The other system was Elevate, a mentorship system for students leaving campus. The system was designed to help increase the interaction between students and industry players. Bridge the gap between academia and industry. The system is intended to showcase available internship opportunities and job opportunities. Also share upcoming events. Within the system, mentors and mentees can interact.
