The University of Nairobi will launch the UoN Foundation on Thursday, 30th June 2022. The goal of the Foundation is to support the University in fulfilling its mission of teaching and learning, research, and community service through the mobilization of funds using established legal and professional fundraising tools.
Monday, June 20, 2022; the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Kiama visited the Faculty of Business and Management Science to mobilize all members of staff to fully support the UoN Foundation as well as mobilize alumni, friends, and partners to actively participate in the launch. The Vice-Chancellor shared his vision and hopes for the future stating that the Foundation “is a special purpose vehicle that will establish an endowment fund to support learning, research, and innovation.”

About the UoN Foundation:
The University of Nairobi (UoN) is the oldest and the largest university in Kenya. Founded in July 1970 as the first public and national university, the UoN has continued to provide quality university education, research and training, as stated in its mission and mandate. This explains the recharged vitality in the Higher Education sector, and the ongoing discourse of “Thinking higher education and beyond” by UNESCO, whose aim is to trigger thinking on higher education’s contribution to future societal needs up to 2050
