Strategy, information systems, technology and organizational competitiveness; e-business and technology innovation; project and programme management; project finance and venture capital; ICT and development (ICT4D); operations excellence; epistemological and ontological foundations of management theory and practice; critical realism; application of quantitative techniques and systems concepts to complex (messy) problems; situating the idea ‘development’ within critical societal and global discourse.

Organizations, strategy and digitalization; social media, AI and big data analytics; case studies of indigenous entrepreneurs and sustainable businesses; intellectuals and research relevance in Africa; public sector performance management and programme evaluation; digitalization and organizational effectiveness; business, governance and public policy.
