One of the leading universities in Australia, Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) has a signed a Memorandum of Understanding , MOU, with the University of Nairobi Faculty of Business and Management Sciences.
The MoU will guide the two universities in bringing together their academic experts in joint research, proposal writing, and joint conferences and seminars among others.
Leading the RMIT side, Prof. Colin Picker , Deputy Vice Chancellor, said that the collaboration will be based on joint research with faculty members, student and staff exchange programs which promotes international experience for the students.
He was accompanied by Prof. Mathews Nhkoma, Associate Vice Chancellor.
Prof. Colin Picker also explained the structure and the management of RMIT saying that they have campuses in China, Singapore , Vietnam and Australia. “We are advanced in use of AI in teaching. We are committed to industry partnership. We were established some 140 Years ago. “We are here to identify industries and partners that we can work with”, he said.
In his concluding remarks, he opined that they are at the university in the fine edge of business and technology: agricultural, biotechnology, “We are looking for meaningful, authentic partnerships where students and staff will enjoy study tours and mobility.
The MOU was signed and witnessed by the University of Nairobi Vice Chancellor, Prof. Margaret Jesang Hutchinson.
