First years Orientation: VC's Address

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Stephen Kiama addressed the 10,000 students who have been admitted to the University of Nairobi for the September 2022 intake. The matriculation ceremony was held on Thursday, 22nd September 2022 at 2.30pm at Taifa Hall. 

The first years physically reported on Monday, 19th September 2022 at the Faculty of Business and Management Science and are currently going through the orientation process before they officially start classes in October 2022. 

New students: Admission and Orientation Week 2022

The University of Nairobi will admit the First Year students for the 2022/2023 Academic Year on Monday 19th September 2022. The University has lined up a series of activities for the Orientation week to introduce the freshmen to University life and the rich culture of the University of Nairobi.

Schedule of activities: 

Monday 19th to Sunday 25th September 2022: Biometric Registration and Orientation Week

Tuesday 20th September 2022: Students commence Course Registration for two weeks

Academic Year 2022/23: Online Registration for 1st years

1. The online registration portal is now open: https://smis.uonbi.ac.ke. All new students must register online.  
2. New Students are advised to take advantage of the early opening of the portal and ensure that they are registered and ready to report physically for the commencement of the Academic Year on Monday 19th September 2022 at their respective Faculties.
3. The Joining Instructions must be downloaded and duly filled and completed and the scanned forms uploaded during the online registration.
