THE UNIVERSITY OF NAIROBI DISABILITY MAINSTREAMING TO STUDENTS

There will be  a Key Note Address  by the Dean, Faculty of Business and Management Sciences, Prof. James Njihia. 

Other speakers during the event will be Dr Reuben Kikwatha speaking on Disability Mainstreaming: Promoting Inclusion and Accessibility and Dr. Margaret Kariuki speaking on University of Nairobi Disability Policy

Collaboration with Thomas More University, Belgium

 

Of interest for both Thomas More and UoN is staff and student exchange programs whereby lecturers and students from each University would visit the other for a period of one semester to learn the culture and see a different perspective of life. 

Other areas of collaboration between the two Universities Business Schools will be joint research and joint grant applications, participation in each institution conferences and international week, support and mentorship of entrepreneurs, Cooperation in academic programs, internship for students in the two countries etc

University Staff and Students  Learn Fire Safety.

Speaking during the event, Mr. Hillary Kigen, from Jolemac Fire Protection Limited observed that fire is a combination of fuel , heat and oxygen that produces combustion  and eliminating oxygen is the only way to extinguish fire and the principle behind which all fire extinguishers work.

 

He explained that fire can be caused by overloading electrical appliances, smoking, gas leakage, candle lights, children playing with matchboxes and oil spillage among other causes.
