The University of Nairobi, Faculty of Business and Management Science is working on a collaboration with American University, Western Michigan University.

 

The collaboration with go along way in extending the international experience and between the two universities as the students and staff enjoy exchange programs, joint degrees, joint publications among others benefits.

Leading the delegation from Western Michigan University, Prof. David Huffman, observed that their former students have done well in the business sector, in the industry and in the academia. Therefore he is looking for more students that can be sponsored in the program.

In his tour of the country, Prof. Huffman has visited several high school and campuses, among them being the Chiromo Campus, Faculty of Science and Technology.

On his part, Prof. X. N. Iraki, Associate Dean, Post Graduate Studies and Operations, opined that as a country, they have admire many Nobel Laurautes from the USA, some of them having done their research in Kenya. “We have also admired your movies, your presidents and various celebrities, now we need to transition to academic publications,” he said.

Previously, Western Michigan University had an ongoing collaboration with Chiromo Campus, where they have been sponsoring students of chemistry and now they want to extend that collaboration here to have students of business in their program.  

Prof. Iraki pointed out that as the Faculty of Business and Management Sciences, we can do research collaboration, student exchange programs as we have done so with many other European Universities where our staff members do joint student supervision with professors from Europe.

The meeting was attended by among others: Prof. Mercy Munjuri , Chair, Department of Business Administration and Dr. John Bosco Kisimbi, Associate Dean, Undergraduate Programs.
