On February 21, the University of Nairobi community joined the world in celebrating International Mother Language Day- A special day set aside by UNESCO to celebrate and promote the awareness of language and cultural diversity across the world.
Wote town, the heart of Makueni County hosted the first 2020 Elimika Wajibika workshop at the Acacia resort on January 22-23, 2020.
Three quarters of the people in attendance were youth drawn from various counties including Homabay, Kwale, Makueni, Nairobi and Turkana. The remaining quarter wasn't youth, they were respected scholars, civil servants and county government officials.
The University of Nairobi Management led by the Vice-Chancellor, Deputy Vice-Chancellors, Principals, Dean and Directors welcomed new students to the University of Nairobi on 23rd January, 2020. Prof. Stephen Kiama welcomed the First Years; He applauded them for getting an opportunity to join the University of Nairobi. He said that the University is ready to nature them professionally through teaching and learning.
